What is Synthetic Fuel?
Synthetic fuel or synfuel is a liquid fuel obtained from coal, natural gas, oil shale, biomass or even plastics or rubber waste.
It is most commonly produced by conversion of Coal. The processes are Fischer Tropsch conversion, methanol to gasoline conversion, or direct coal liquefaction. Synthetic jet fuels show a reduction in pollutants such as SO2, NO2, particulate matter, and hydrocarbon emissions
